Come Out and Play! One of the most unique settings for a state park, Santee State Park offers a variety of activities and facilities for outdoor enthusiasts and nature lovers. The park is located on State Park Rd. off of Highway #6W. The scenic road draws you into the 2,500 \u2013acre park which opened in 1949.<\/span><\/p>\n \n<\/div>\n <\/div> \n\n \n \n

\n\n\nSwamp Fox Passage – Palmetto Trail<\/a>\n<\/h3>\n\n\n <\/span>\n\n\n <\/div>\n\n \n \n

At 47 miles, the Swamp Fox Passage is the longest section of the Palmetto Trail and traverses four distinct ecosystems through Francis Marion National Forest: swamps, long-leaf pine forests, savannas and cypress pools. The swamps were made famous as hideouts of Revolutionary War hero Francis Marion, the \u201cSwamp Fox\u201d, for whom the trail is named.<\/span><\/p>\n \n<\/div>\n <\/div> \n\n \n \n
