Our Favorite Local Spots

Landmarks

Built in 1909, the depot was the city’s hub of activity for over 60 years. Today, visit the historic depot to see photos, tools and memorabilia documenting Foley’s history and the important part the railroad played in developing this area.

If you are looking for volleyball-playing, beach-bar-hanging good times, this spot – where Highway 59 dead-ends into the Gulf – is for you.

This small beach area is found at the intersection of Highway 182 and Highway 161. Nestled between some of the most popular condominiums in the area, there’s always plenty of people-watching and activity.

A historic memorial that makes sure to “establish, operate and maintain a state memorial park to honor the Alabamians who participated so valiantly in all armed conflicts of the United States…and, as a permanent public memorial, to educate the public on the contributions and sacrifices of the veterans of all branches of the United States Armed Services in all conflicts.”

Restaurants with Entertainment

One of our favorite local dining spots, LuLu’s, is known for its authentic coastal cuisine and welcoming atmosphere. Guests can enjoy dishes made from scratch, and authentic coastal cuisine served with a heapin’ helpin’ of Crazy Sista love.

One of our favorite spots in Gulf Shores and Myrtle Beach, The Hangout offers fresh seafood, live music, and nonstop entertainment throughout the day. It’s a lively destination for families and friends to enjoy great food, fun activities, and a high-energy atmosphere from morning to night.

One of the world’s top beach bars, The Flora-Bama Lounge is located uniquely on the Orange Beach, Alabama and Perdido Key, Florida line. This honky tonk has long been a landmark in the community since 1964.

Coffee/Tea

Go fuel up at a quaint coffee shop, a converted 1950’s service station, in historic downtown Foley.

One of our favorite local coffee spots, Coastlands Coffee is a community-focused shop in Foley, Alabama, known for its welcoming atmosphere and thoughtfully crafted coffee. It’s a great place for locals and visitors alike to relax, connect, and enjoy a quality coffee experience.

Located in the heart of downtown, this area is surrounded by local attractions including the historic Train Museum, welcome center, and the Antique Rose walking trail. Visitors can also enjoy several nearby boutiques, shops, and points of interest all within walking distance.

Captain Crazy’s Paradise in Foley is more than an arcade — it’s a full-blown adventure into retro gaming, neon nostalgia, and anime-infused Japanese street culture. Step into a glowing, Japanese-themed dojo lit by paper lanterns, lined with anime memorabilia and a decorative yatai-style street cart. The scent of Asian street food fills the air, and a cozy bar serves up craft beer, sake, and sodas.

Start your self-guided tour adventure with a walk to the elevated viewing platform, where you can see over 600 alligators now from hatchlings to mature adults, relaxing, sunbathing, courting and nesting. After a breath taking view, continue your adventure with a nature walk on the elevated boardwalk and see alligators in their natural habitat along with other natural inhabitants such as turtles, ospreys, owls and bull frogs only a couple feet away!

A church marked by biblical teaching, passionate worship, authentic community, and the presence of Jesus. Everyone’s welcome, nobody’s perfect, and because of Jesus, anything’s possible.

We are not a perfect church, but we worship a perfect, risen Savior.

One of our favorite nearby shopping spots, Tanger Shopping Outlet offers a fun and welcoming place to shop, dine, and explore. It’s a great destination for finding popular brands, enjoying the atmosphere, and spending time with family and friends.

Our favorite local spot, the Coastal Alabama Farmers & Fishermens Market, provides local fruits, vegetables, seafood, and non-certifiable agricultural products through direct marketing for the general public and commercial establishments in an enjoyable place.

One of our favorite local destinations, The Wharf offers something for everyone, including a Ferris wheel, marina, concerts, arcades, water excursions, and seasonal events. Throughout the year, visitors can also enjoy festivals, fishing tournaments, boat shows, and a variety of entertainment for all ages.
